Diorama Drama

Racism. Its a problem in the U.S. However it has progressed into more than just hate crimes and segregation. The shadows and essences of the past are still there. Honestly I think a lot of people (both black and white, this isn't one sided) are refusing to let go. On my diorama note card I highlighted the three attitudes I attribute most with racism. Supremacy, Suppression, Ethnocentric. Those three words sum up the problem in America concerning racism. The lingering stench of the sixties still rears its ugly head in a less subtle way nowadays. Supremacists have their opinions on who is entitled to what. The suppressionistic which are concentrated in Americas minority groups have an attitude that they're always getting shorthanded or that its never going to quite workout for them and blame their shortcomings. Not to say that EVERY PERSON IS RACIST. Like is said its lingering most people in my age group tend to be breaking the trend so I hope to see that progress. I would say that the election of a half white half black president is a great start to that. Personally from a political standpoint I didn't support Barack Obama, nor did I support John McCain. I voted for Mitt Romney in the caucas. But it speaks volumes for the "change" however its a change in generation not in government but that is a tremendously different argument. This diorama displays two extremes of racism and is mainly meant to be symbolic, if you look closely (I know its blurry) the world is divided, one half remains white while one side is painted black. Hopefully this gives you something to think about, I know it can be a touchy subject but it is a problem and particularlly a problem I get really annoyed with. Ty for reading
